VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE

Support
10-year Anniversary Campaign Project Planning and Scheduling

Love, Unity & Values (LUV) Institute is a non-profit organization committed to its mission to inspire hope and empower youth, living in high burden communities impacted by trauma and violence, with economic opportunities while building resiliency and social-emotional competencies.

I volunteered my time for a project that included the development of 3 project plans and schedules to help support LUV's 10-year anniversary celebration campaigns. I worked with the team to build out the campaign plans and then developed the schedule for each campaign.

At the end of the project, they were provided with a template for project planning and also a project schedule template that they can use for future projects. I also created a tracking template so they can analyze year-over-year new donor and existing donor contributions by campaign results.

I met the team at LUV Institute through Catchafire, a non-profit organization that connects professionals who want to donate their time and skills to non-profit organizations.

Advocacy
Town of Queen Creek's Inclusive Playground

I volunteered my time, research and voice to build awareness and advocate for an inclusive playground at the new Mansel Carter Oasis Park in Queen Creek, Arizona. I provided feedback to Town staff and the engineering firm on playground design, supplied grant research and rallied other moms to voice the need for inclusive play in our community. I continuously advocated for the playground throughout the design and approval process.

My advocacy led to spearheading the grant effort that resulted in a $130K inclusive playground grant partnership between the Town of Queen Creek and Banner Ironwood Medical Center.

The 48-acre park is now home to the first-of-its-kind inclusive playground that was designed for ALL abilities so everybody can enjoy the physical, social and sensory aspects of play. The inclusive playground opened September 1, 2018.
